NOVEMBER MEETING

Our November meeting was very well attended. We are greatfull to those who make time in their busy schedules to attend our meetings. We would also like to thank Lenny Sinacore from the U.S. Submarine Veterans for being our guest speaker at our November meeting. Lenny spoke about the history of submarines and shared some of his own experiences in the submarine service. I know by the feedback that everyone found what he had to say very interesting.

SOLDIER FUND

Thanks to your generosity, our Holiday gift drive for our troops is a huge success. The response in the short time we had to make this happen has been outstanding. Many items have been donated and almost $500 in cash. The items were packed and readied for shipment on Sunday, November 19 and by the time you read this, should be well on their way to Jason Walsh and Matt McCoy to share with their units. Arlien Cohen and Theresa Sperduto, who co-chaired the project, did an outstanding job. Much thanks to both of them and to all who contributed.

2006 ELECTION

Congratulations to all of our candidates who were victorious on Tuesday, and to the candidates who did not win, thank you for your valiant effort. We truly appreciate your dedication and hard work during the campaign and your willingness to step out into the public arena for the good of our Party and our community.

A very special "thank you" to all our members who pitched in and helped the candidates during the campaign. Let's keep it going and start planning for next year's election.

It was not a very good night for our party on the national level. The democrats now hold the majority in the both the House and Senate. Nancy Pelosi is now the Speaker of the House and Senator Harry Reid is the Senate Majority Leader. It will be an interesting two years. All we can do is pay attention and prepare for 2008.

Our next meeting is Tuesday, November 28th at 8 PM at the Selden Firehouse. All of our candidates and elected officials have an open invitation to attend our meetings. The door is always open.

On This 5th Anniversary....

On this fifth anniversary of that awful day in September of 2001, we at Mid-Brookhaven Republican Club extend our deepest sympathy to the families of the innocent victims and our brave heroes who perished at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in a field in Pennsylvania. And to those who survived but still carry the physical and mental scars of that day with them, we offer comfort. To the thousands of brave servicemen and women serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the rest of the world to keep us save, we offer our unwavering support and gratitude. You are always in our hearts and prayers. Never forget.
